Leigh and the Saitama folks were coming down to go to the amusement park in Fujiyoshida, so Meriel, Marisa, Jason and I decided to meet them there. We stopped for lunch at an organic cafe and had some organic pizza for lunch while we chatted with an ex-JET who was working there on the organic farm for a month.
Fujikyuu highlands had a lot of lines, like any amusement park, but it was fun. The former tallest roller coaster in the world was also a lot of fun. Also, the do-don-pa ride shoots you out with a hydraulic canon that goes from 0-180kph in 2 seconds or something silly. There were other rides, of course, that were also fun. Jason and I spent almost all the rides laughing hysterically as Meriel and Marisa screamed loud enough to shatter windows back in America at every slight turn even the smallest coaster made.
I rode the ferris wheel myself after I got separated from the other 3 after I did the massive roller coaster, the Fujiyama, one more time. There were some great views of the park and of Mt. Fuji, although I couldn't manage to get both myself and the mountain in any of the pictures.
