Hayakawa Junior High School Festival

September 22nd, 2005

These festivals are crazy. The kids basically cancel classes all the time so they can work on their festivals. Plays, sports, dances, taiko, skits, songs (tons and tons of songs. i sang too, although I don't know what I sang), and other stuff. They construct sets, paint backgrounds, make posters and fliers, put out their art displays, everything. It's like they take American parent-teacher nights or whatever (I'm blanking on the word... where parents go and see their kids artwork and whatnot), and combine it with every major student activity and class at the same time.

In any case, here are the pictures. I was coerced into juggling during some set changes, but other than that I didn't really participate. I ran some in the relays, sang, and that's about it. The festival went from...well, I was there from 7:30am until 8pm or so when the bonfire was finished.
