Day Two in Kyoto was temple day. I hit so many temples I don't remember their names. Sangendo, Kiyomizudera, Kinkakuji, Ryoanji, Nijojo (actually a castle and the prettiest place in Kyoto), Tenryakuji, somethingsomethingji, etc. In general I liked the less crowded places (I got to Sangendo at around 7 and it was pretty empty. Also, the gardens at Ryoanji were vacated in favor of the quite dull but very zen 7-rock sand garden (number 1 in Japan).
