Kita Sho (North Elementary) Ayaka and I.

The town sports festival lasted about a day and I received lots of cool swag. If you like Kleenex, hand towels, and the like. Everytime you participated in an event you got a quite random household prize. Keychains, dusting gloves, etc. One wonders how they pick this stuff out. Anyway, it was a pleasant way to spend the day. There were lots of older 65 events, dances, obstacle courses, relays, etc. I participated in most of the ones geared toward the under-65 crowd because people seem to like seeing the foreigner play. Good thing I don't mind! Because I was involved in most of the events, there are no pictures. Examples, however, include: a little golf game, roll the volleyball and knock over the water bottle game, throw prickly balls at balloons until they all pop game, bounce a ball over your head and catch it in a backpack you're wearing game, etc. None of them really make sense, but who cares? You play, you get your box of eyebrow tweezers (no joke), and everyone is happy. :)

On a side note, watching old people run is quite fun, although I expect it won't be in 60 years. I was really impressed with how fast some of those 80+ year olds could move.
